Start with the location
Before choosing a banner, describe where it will be displayed, how long it is needed and what it will be attached to. A sheltered shop promotion and a large temporary fence graphic have different practical requirements. Confirm the available width and height, then consider the viewing distance and main message.
Solid PVC: a continuous print surface
A solid PVC banner gives your artwork a continuous background. It is an option to discuss when you want bold text, photographs or a strong block of colour. The weight, finish and mounting requirements should be confirmed for the location rather than chosen from the picture alone.
Mesh: a perforated surface
Mesh contains small openings that allow airflow through the graphic. It is worth discussing for fencing, scaffolding and other exposed display locations. Those openings affect the appearance of the image, especially close up, so think about viewing distance as well as the artwork.
Mesh is not a guarantee against wind damage. The banner, supporting structure, fixing method and conditions still need a suitable plan. Ask the responsible installer or venue to assess the mounting requirements.
