What should you send?

A print-ready PDF

PDF is our preferred final print format. Export at the correct proportions, embed images and convert fonts to outlines where required. Open the exported file and check every page before sending it.

Your original logo

A vector logo such as an AI, EPS, SVG or vector PDF usually scales cleanly. Send the original file if you have it; editable source files are useful for design work and may need converting to a print-ready PDF.

High-resolution images

Send original photographs rather than screenshots or compressed social-media copies. JPG or TIFF can be suitable for photographs; a PNG may be useful for a transparent logo, but its resolution still needs checking.

One identity. Different formats.

Resolution: check the finished print size

For small print read close up, aim for around 300 pixels per inch at the finished size. Large banners and display graphics can use a lower effective resolution depending on viewing distance and the product. Email the original image and intended dimensions so we can discuss suitability.

Changing a resolution label to “300 dpi” does not add detail to a small image. Enlarging a low-resolution file can leave the result blurred or pixelated. Vector text and logos stay sharp when scaled, provided they are genuinely vector artwork.

Size, bleed and safe areas

Confirm the exact product and finished width and height before designing. Bleed is the background that extends beyond the trim edge; a safe area keeps important text and logos away from cutting, seams, hems and eyelets. These allowances differ between products, so ask us for the correct setup rather than applying one rule to everything.

Roller banners need space for the part of the graphic hidden inside the base. Flags, fabric displays and folded products have their own shapes and finishing requirements. We’ll discuss those before the final artwork is approved. If you work at a reduced scale, tell us the scale and check that image resolution remains suitable at full size.

Colour, fonts and finishing

Prepare final print artwork in CMYK where possible. RGB screen colours can change when converted for printing, and a screen preview is not an exact colour match. Tell us if a brand colour is critical so we can discuss a sample or test print.

Keep fonts and linked images with your editable artwork. For the final print file, outline fonts where required and ensure images are embedded. Check that no guide lines, template labels or unwanted marks appear in the printed area.

Check your proof before approval

  • Spelling, names, dates and contact details.
  • Product dimensions, page order, folds and the number of designs.
  • Image quality and the placement of text near edges.
  • QR codes and web addresses—test them at the intended size.
  • Final quantities and the delivery deadline.

Only send artwork, logos, photographs and fonts you are entitled to use. We’ll confirm any preparation or design work needed before proceeding. Production is arranged after the required artwork and order approvals.

Sending your files

Email hello@flintshireprinting.co.uk with your enquiry and attach the files where possible. Name each file with the product, dimensions and design name; tell us the quantity of each version. If files are too large for email, contact us to agree a suitable transfer method.

This website does not upload files or submit orders automatically. Keep your original editable artwork and a copy of the final approved file.

Artwork questions

I only have a screenshot of my logo. Can you help?

Email it along with any original files you can find. We’ll assess whether it is suitable or discuss recreating it. Redrawing and other artwork work is charged at £35 per hour or part-hour, plus VAT, with the scope agreed first.

Can you update an existing design?

Yes—send the editable source if available, the current design and a clear list of changes. We’ll check the files and discuss the work before starting.

Should I add the same bleed to every product?

No. The product, finishing and hardware determine the setup. Confirm your chosen product and ask us for the correct dimensions, bleed and safe area before completing your design.

Have something in mind?

Let’s bring it to print.

Email your ideas, quantities and deadline. We’ll discuss the details with you.
